What is the difference between a shirt from here and buying one from a major retail store?

Retail garments come in standard sizes, but our clothes are custom-made to fit your precise body type. Also, you oversee every detail of the process, from the fabrics to the cuffs and collars.

What is the price of your clothes?

The shirts range anywhere from $89 and up. We have over 2,000 fabrics to choose from. Suits range from $795 and up. We have over 10,000 wool fabrics to choose from. These prices are all inclusive with lifetime alterations.

Do you offer outside alterations in your showrooms?

Yes, we have a full-scale alteration department. This is the way many of our clients find out about our service. We handle alterations the same way they approach making clothes – with absolute perfection, and take no short cuts. We offer all types of alterations for men and women.

Do I need to get measured every time I order?

No, the measurements are on file, However if you gained or lost weight and want to make adjustments, you can feel free to.

What happens if I lose weight or gain weight and my custom suit doesn’t fit?

At Imparali we provide free alterations for life for all our suits, tuxedos, and sports jackets.

What if I don’t want to measure myself?

We recommend that you get someone to measure you, if you cannot then send us your best fitting shirt or suit for us to copy at our New York showroom. After we make your clothes we will send back your sample along with the new order.

What is the expected delivery time of my order?

Delivery time is between 3 to 4 weeks after the order is confirmed. If you need to request a rush order, please specify and we will try our very best to meet those needs.

How can I have a custom tailor measure me for a custom suit?

We have two show rooms, one in Midtown Manhattan and one in the Greater Houston area. Home and office appointments are available seven days a week for custom clothing at no extra charge. If you are not near the area we offer extensive tours throughout the United States and you can reach us toll free at 1-888-880-SUIT and we will have a certified master tailor come to you.

What is the difference between 1-ply and 2-ply cotton fabrics?

One-ply is weaving one thread in warp with one thread in weft.Two-ply cotton fabrics silkier and makes a more comfortable shirt. Two threads are twisted together to make one yarn. This yarn is then lightly woven, creating a very smooth and strong fabric.

Can Imparali make custom tuxedos and custom top coats as well?

Yes, we custom make sports coats, dinner jackets, tails, blazers, and slacks – anything that requires fine tailoring.

What about shrinkage of shirts?

Cotton tends to shrink. Therefore we give an allowance of fabric for shrinkage.

What type of collar stays do you usually use?

We use permanent stays. If you would prefer removable stays please specify during your order.

Why the numerical designations super 100s, super 120s, super 150s, and super 180s for the different wools what do they mean?

It is a numbering system to describe the new breed of super light weight , high twist wools . The finer or lighter the wool, the higher the number.

What is the numbering system for shirts?

You will often see fabric for dress shirts described numerically as 50s, 80s, 120s, 140s, 160s, etc. The higher the number, the finer the yarn. 120s, 140s, 160s two-ply cotton are the most luxurious and expensive fabrics. The fabric is silky smooth and most men make that extra investment as they enjoy the softness and luster.
